USHEALTH Group is a company that requires no introduction to people in the healthcare and insurance industry. Ascent rebranded to the name USHEALTH Group in 2005. The company is booming, profiting from innovation and creativity, providing their customers with a portfolio of life, disability, health and other types of coverage.
Development of USHG Philosophy
Troy McQuagge joined USHEALTH Group in 2010 (Fort Worth, Texas), with the intention to provide specialized health coverage to the American customers. Built on two pillars, Integrity and Trust, the company snowballed, eventually expanding its influence over 30 U.S. states.
The company also emphasizes consumer satisfaction, making sure that every customer is treated with respect and as individuals. During its development, USHG also focused on the development of what they call “first dollar benefits.” In essence, the company guarantees that a policyholder can access the benefits of insurance with no deductible or coinsurance, from the first dollar of eligible health expense.
The Man of the Hour, Troy McQuagge
Much of USHG’s accomplishments are credited to the company’s CEO, Troy McQuagge. In 2016, he received the CEO World Awards, in the category of Most Innovative CEO In Insurance Industry. The fact that Troy McQuagge was the one to receive an award might have caught some people off guard, but not the USHEALTH Advisors team, who have been working with Troy for years now.
Troy is a veteran in the insurance and health industry, with more than 35 years of experience. Before he joined USHG, Troy functioned as a CEO of HealthMarkets. He carried out his role very efficiently, helping the HealthMarkets Agency Marketing Group reach $1 billion-milestone (on annual sales revenues.)
In 2010. Troy joined USHG, leading it to new heights. Between 2011 and 2018, Troy made several changes in the company (functioning as its CEO.) Since his takeover, the USHG’s list of employees multiplied by ten times, and company’s share value grew by 2,800%.
McQuagge stated that he feels very honored to receive the CEO World Award. More importantly, Troy knows he did not win this award by himself. He stated the award is a testament to every USHG employee.
McQuagge’s HOPE Program
Critics argue that it was the HOPE program that delivered the win to McQuagge. HOPE stands for Helping Other People Every-day: simple, witty and most importantly, upbeat! HOPE started as a group effort by the USHG and the USHA teams to help those that are in dire need.
It showed its full strength after hurricane Katrina destroyed and demoralized the majority of New Orleans. While it was obvious that the people needed home and shelter after Katrina, they also needed hope, hope for a better future.
Promoting HOPE, USHG donated to various other causes. In 2011, they donated to Crisis Nursery, a non-profit organization which helps abandoned and impoverished children. Continuing the success in the HOPE mission, USHG worked with the HOPEKids project in Arizona, with the intent to help children diagnosed with fatal and life-threating diseases. When asked about the reasons behind the foundation of HOPE, Troy stated that he wanted to change someone’s life for good. He believes that we are here to make a positive difference for others.
Future of USHEALTH Group
Through HOPE, USHG managed to change the lives of many people, particularly those that were in very dire situations. Aside from helping others, USHG intends to expand its influence in the American market.
The company will continue to put their customers’ needs above everyone else. They are doing a good job thus far, according to the many industry awards they’ve secured year over year.
